Parents as Teachers

East Buchanan Parents As Teachers...Building Blocks To Success

Parents As Teachers is a school-home-community partnership designed to give all children the best possible start in life. Parents As Teachers is based on the philosophy that parents are their children's first and most influential teachers. Through this program, parents are offered the skills to help make the most of their child's crucial early learning years. Covering child development from prenatal to age five, the program suggests parent-child activities which encourage language, motor, social and intellectual skills.

The Parents As Teachers support system includes personal home visits/school visits/Virtual visits, group meetings, developmental screening, and a referral network in place.

By promoting parent involvement in learning, Parents As Teachers puts children and their parents on the right track for achievement during the early years and later in school. Learning begins in the home, before children ever go to school.

Parents As Teachers is a no-cost program that serves families throughout pregnancy until your child turns five or goes into kindergarten.
